SPECIAL FEATURE: TIRUMALA-TIRUPATI DEVASTHANAMS

‘Fully motivated’

K.V. POORNACHANDRA KUMAR

TTD Executive Officer K.V. Ramanachari, IAS.

TTD’s Executive Officer, K.V. Ramanachari said that the TTD administration was geared up to implement all the epoch-making programmes formulated by the TTD Trust Board. He told this correspondent that the TTD hierarchy was fully motivated. Special cells have been created to monitor the programmes. The TTD believes that spiritualism and social consciousness should supplement and complement each other, Ramanachari said. He spoke at length about the Sravanam project, which aims at diagnosing hearing impairment in infants and ensuring timely medical intervention.

He said the TTD had floated Annadanam, Pranadana, and Go Samrakshana trusts to cater to the needs of the socially and economically backward people. Besides, Karunadhamam has been started in Tirupati to provide shelter to the aged and infirm, destitute persons and mentally challenged children.

Ramanachari said the Sri Venkateswara Bhakthi Channel operated by the TTD was part of its efforts to preserve and promote the Vedas and Indian culture. The Sri Venkateswara Vedic University, set up recently, is another step in this direction.1
