Correction: The photograph of Admiral V.S. Shekhawat (Retd.), former Chief of the Naval Staff, was wrongly published with the caption reading "Admiral L. Ramdas, former Chief of the Naval Staff," in the July 17, 1998 issue of Frontline, as part of the latter's article, "Pokhran-II and its fallout". The error by the editorial desk of Frontline is regretted. We tender our apologies to Admiral Shekhawat and Admiral Ramdas for any embarrassment caused.
